Yamaha has finally launched the new Fazer 25 at Rs 1.28 lakhs (ex-showroom Mumbai).
The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 rival is built on the FZ25 platform. That's why there's a fair amount of component sharing between these two bikes. The frame, sub-frame, wheels, fuel tank and instrument cluster - all are from the FZ25 street bike. The major differentiation factor between the bikes is the presence of the bulky front fairing and different headlamp unit. There are also LED pilot lamps that enhance the overall appeal.
The Fazer 25 is powered by a 249cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that produces 20bhp at 8000rpm and maximum torque of 20Nm at 6000rpm. Gearbox is the same five - speed one. The Japanese manufacturer is claiming a fuel efficiency of 43kmpl and with a fuel tank capacity of 14 litres, the Fazer 25 can do 600kms in a single tank. Yamaha is positioning the Fazer 25 as a tourer, just like it did with the Fazer 150.
The bookings for the Fazer 25 has begun at all showrooms, with deliveries commencing from September. The bike is available in two colours - grey with blue and red with golden.
