On numerous instances in recent past, the upcoming Yamaha Fazer 25 has been spotted on test. This time around, reports indicate that Yamaha might launch the new motorcycle in the last quarter of this year. It is also believed that production for the motorcycle will begin in August 2017. As for what we know, the Fazer 25 is basically a fully faired version of the FZ 25.
The upcoming motorcycle will be powered by a 250cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that generates 20bhp of power and 20Nm of torque. The fairly powered engine comes mated to a five-speed transmission. Like its naked street fighter sibling, the Fazer 25 gets telescopic front forks, a mono-shock rear suspension setup and split seats. Although ABS will not be offered initially, it might get it at a later date.
The upcoming Yamaha Fazer is expected to cost an additional Rs 15,000 - Rs 20,000 over the FZ 25 which is currently priced at Rs 1,19,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Post launch, the bike will compete against the likes of CBR250R and KTM RC200 in India. More details about the bike will be known in the days to come.
