Yamaha Motor India may discontinue the Fazer 25 during the BS6 transition. The faired, quarter-litre model was missing from the price and availability announcement that Yamaha shared in a press announcement. The motorcycle did not clock promising sales numbers, which could be a reason behind discontinuing the model. Dealer sources have also stated that the quarter-litre range will only comprise of the FZ series.
The company is yet to make an official announcement about the future of the Fazer 25. Meanwhile, Yamaha has confirmed that the BS6 compliant FZ-25 will be available next month (April 2020) while the FZS-25 will be available later this year. In fact, select Yamaha dealers have started accepting bookings for the new FZ-25 BS6 model.
The BS6 iteration of the FZ-25 packs revised styling that comprises of robotic-style headlamp design, a sharper bikini fairing and a taller visor. The updated motor continues to deliver the same power output as the BS4 model. The BS6 compliant 249cc, single-cylinder engine produces 20.5bhp and 20.1Nm. Hardware specifications comprise of telescopic front forks and rear mono-shock, disc brakes at both wheels and a dual-channel ABS.
