Yamaha launched the Fazer 25 in the Indian market yesterday with a price tag of Rs 1.28 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The bike directly competes against the Bajaj Pulsar RS200, although there are a number of motorcycles offered in the similar price range. The Fazer 25 is the faired version of the Yamaha FZ25, which is also available in a similar price range. The FZ25 uses the same 249cc single cylinder, air-cooled engine as its faired sibling. This engine produces 20.30bhp at 8,000rpm and 20Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. The bike is available at Rs 1.18 lakhs (ex-showroom). Another offering from Yamaha is the exceptional YZF-R15. The bike which derives its styling from the older generation YZF R1 uses a 150cc single cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 17bhp and 15Nm of torque. It is also priced at Rs 1.18 lakhs (ex-showroom, India).
Also available is the Royal Enfield Classic 350. The bike is powered by a 346cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that is mated to a five-speed gearbox. This engine delivers peak power of 19.8bhp and 28Nm of peak torque. The Royal Enfield Classic 350 retails for Rs 1.35 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
