Yamaha added the FZ 25 BS6 to its portfolio along with higher-spec FZS 25 in India. The company has updated the motorcycle with a few cosmetic tweaks, new features, and a revised engine. Here, we list down all that is new in the BS6-compliant FZ 25.
Styling tweaks
The new FZ 25 does not stray far away from the previous model’s brawny streetfighter styling. Instead, it has been built upon that design with sharper and beefier looking tank shrouds that come with faux air intakes. It even gets a more aggressive fascia thanks to the new, full-LED headlamp.
Updated features
Besides the LED lighting for the headlamp, Yamaha has also equipped the new FZ 25 with updated features like a negative LCD instrument cluster, larger underbelly cowl as well as a side-stand engine cut off switch for added safety.
Colours
The FZ 25 is offered in a choice of two colour options- Metallic Black and Racing Blue.
Revised engine
The 249cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that also featured on the previous FZ 25 has now been revised to comply with BS6 emission norms. The engine produces 20.5bhp of power at 8,000rpm and 20.1Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. It comes mated to a five-speed gearbox.
Pricing
Yamaha has priced the FZ 25 BS6 at Rs 1.52 lakh; a premium of around Rs 19,000 over the BS4 model which was sold at Rs 1.33 lakh. As for competition, it goes up against the Bajaj Dominar 250 that retails at Rs 1.60 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).
