Here we list the alternatives that potential buyers can consider in a similar price range.
Suzuki Gixxer 250 (Rs 1,65,441)
Buyers can consider the Suzuki Gixxer 250, although it carries a considerable premium of almost Rs 13,300 over the Yamaha. Similar to the Yamaha FZ 25, the quarter-litre naked roadster from Suzuki features a negative LCD screen and an LED headlight. The Gixxer 250, however, packs more power than the FZ 25. The 249cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine on the Suzuki motorcycle produces 26.1bhp of power at 9,300rpm and 22.2Nm of torque at 7,300rpm.
Bajaj Dominar 250 (Rs 1,60,000)
For a premium of approximately Rs 8,000, buyers can consider Bajaj Auto’s newest product in the Indian market, the Dominar 250. Unlike the Yamaha FZ 25, the Dominar 250 packs premium hardware such as full-LED lighting (indicators, headlight and taillight) and upside-down telescopic front forks. The mechanical specifications on the Dominar 250 include a 248.8cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 26.6bhp of power at 8,500rpm and 23.5Nm of torque at 6,500rpm.
Royal Enfield Classic 350 (Rs 1,59,851)
The Royal Enfield Classic 350 is among the highest-selling motorcycles for the Chennai-based two-wheeler brand. Compared to the motorcycles listed above, the Classic 350 features a retro design instead of a naked roadster look. The feature list is simpler compared to the bikes mentioned above and the Classic 350 uses a halogen headlight and an analogue instrument cluster. In terms of performance, the motorcycle is powered by a 346cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor that produces 19.1bhp at 5,250rpm and 28Nm at 4,000rpm.
Buyers looking for a sporty motorcycle with premium hardware can consider the KTM RC 125. The Austrian motorcycle comes with premium hardware such as projector-style headlights, an LED taillight, LED indicators, digital instrument cluster and upside-down forks. The clip-on style handlebar and full-fairing design enhance the sportiness of the overall package. Mechanical specifications include a 125cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 14.5bhp and 12Nm of torque.
The Yamaha YZF-R15 is available at a lower price tag than the FZ 25. The 155cc motorcycle from Yamaha retails at Rs 1,46,400, which is approximately Rs 6,300 cheaper than the quarter-litre naked roadster. The YZF-R15 packs premium features like full-fairing design, clip-on style handlebars, LED headlight, LED taillight and a negative LCD screen. Mechanical specifications include a 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 18.3bhp at 10,000rpm and 14.1Nm of torque at 8,500rpm.
