Few days ago we reported about a facelifted YZF-R15 which Yamaha is planning to launch soon. Now we also have few pictures of the facelifted FZ motorcycle that was spied testing in Chennai. This makes us believe that the Japanese manufacturer is extending the life cycle of both these bikes by at least a year as it doesn’t plan to launch any new motorcycles till 2015.
The spied FZ facelift looks very similar to the FZ concept that was showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo. The bike will get many cosmetic changes and it is also expected to get few mechanical changes. One of the major cosmetic changes is the new exhaust which is sportier than the previous one, an 'instrument cluster and a slightly redesigned tail section. It also gets a split seat instead of single one.
Reports say that this bike is expected to get a re-bored 170cc version of the current engine that will help it churn around 15.6bhp and increased torque as well. The launch is expected to happen sometime in May with the price increasing marginally over the current model.
Stay tuned to BikeWale as we get you more details on the Yamaha FZ facelift.
