- Yamaha FZ FI and FZ S FI prices hiked
- Demand a premium of Rs 1,000 over their previous prices
- Remain unchanged in other aspects
Yamaha Motor India has recently increased the prices of its premium commuters, the FZ FI and the FZ S FI. Both bikes now demand a premium of Rs 1,000 over their previous prices. While the FZ FI costs Rs 1,02,700, the S variant of the motorcycle is pegged at Rs 1,04,700 now. The dark night edition of the latter is priced at Rs 1,06,200 (all prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Yamaha FZ FI and the FZ S FI are identical in all areas, except for the minor additional styling elements present in the latter. They sport a low-slung, compact LED headlamp, a straight handlebar, muscular fuel tank with beefy extensions, a svelte tail section and a stubby exhaust. Other features of the motorcycle include a fully-digital instrument cluster, a 13 litre fuel tank and a single piece seat.
Powering the Yamaha FZ standard and S models is a 149cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine which churns out 12.2bhp of power and 13.6Nm of peak torque. A five-speed gearbox handles the transmission duties. Riding on 17-inch alloy wheels, the FZs are underpinned by a diamond frame and suspended by telescopic forks and a monoshock. Braking is taken care of a disc at both ends.
In the premium commuter space in India, the FZ FI and the FZ S FI compete against the Bajaj Pulsar NS160, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Honda X-Blade and the Hero Xtreme 160R.
