Yamaha Motor India is in the process of updating their Indian product portfolio reports Motorbeam. This is a part of Yamaha’s strategy to relaunch their already sold models with better performance and fuel efficiency. Out of all the products, reports say that the Yamaha FZ has reached the technical upgrade phase.
This time,Yamaha is not just planning to give a new colour and launch the motorcycle but more than that. If reports are to be believed, the FZ range will get a six-speed gearbox, new sprockets and will also see increase in power and torque by updating valve train timing with new ignition maps. Updated instrument cluster, headlights, tail lights and addition of rear disc brake might also be seen in this updated FZ. Currently, Yamaha sells the FZ-16 and the FZ-S under its FZ brand. We can expect both the motorcycles to be a part of this technical upgrade.
Few months ago, Yamaha had confirmed that their focus was only on scooters till 2015 and they will not be launching any new motorcycle during that duration. The Japanese maker had also confirmed an update of its products and their relaunch. We can expect more models to go under this new development and it will be launched at the 2014 Auto Expo.
