The Yamaha FZ S FI has received a dose of old school charm with the introduction of its new Vintage edition. While it is essentially based on the standard FZ S FI, there are a few elements which set it apart and we list them down here.
New clothes
The FZ S FI Vintage edition is adorned with a new British Racing Green paint scheme which is accentuated by the chequered flag-style graphics on the fuel tank and rear panels. Adding to its retro appeal is the tan brown single-piece seat.
Bluetooth connectivity
The Vintage edition also comes equipped with a Bluetooth module for smartphone connectivity, which was introduced in the Dark Knight version a few weeks back. Called the Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X, this system gives access to the riding history, Locate my Bike feature, remote locking and hazard and parking record.
Price hike
The aforementioned cosmetic additions demand a premium of Rs 2,000 and Rs 5,000 over the Dark Knight and standard variants, respectively. The ex-showroom (Delhi) price of the FZ S FI Vintage trim is Rs 1,09,700.
The same underneath
On the hardware front, all the variants of the FZ S are identical. Powering the motorcycle is a 149cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine which churns out 12.2bhp of power at 7,250rpm and 13.6Nm of peak torque at 5,500rpm. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels which are suspended by telescopic forks and a seven-step adjustable monoshock. Braking is handled by a disc at both ends assisted by single-channel ABS.
