- FZ and FZ-S remain highest selling models
- Priced from Rs 1.09 lakh
- 23,000 units sold in March
The Yamaha FZ series continues to be the highest-selling offering from the Japanese manufacturer in India, registering a 39 per cent growth in sales for March 2022.
A total of 23,016 units of the motorcycle were sold in March as compared to 16,563 units sold in March’21. Now, Yamaha retails two variants of the FZ- a standard version and the FZ-S that are priced at Rs 1.09 lakh and Rs 1.18 lakh each (both prices ex-showroom). The differences between the two are minor and mostly limited to cosmetics. While the Yamaha FZ gets body-coloured components, the FZ-S comes with more chrome for a premium appeal.
However, both motorcycles are powered by the same 149cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor that puts out 12.2bhp and 13.3Nm. This fuel-efficiency focused motor is mated to a five-speed gearbox. In terms of features, the FZ series comes with an LCD instrument cluster, single-channel ABS and LED headlamp as standard fitment.
