- Two new colours launched recently
- The most expensive Chrome variant costs Rs. 1.40 lakh
Yamaha recently spiced up the colour palette of its neo-retro offering, the FZ X, in India. After introducing two new shades of the bike, the motorcycle is available in a choice of five colours in total.
The most expensive trim is the new Chrome variant which is priced at Rs. 1.40 lakh. It looks blingy with a chrome-finished fuel tank and headlamp nacelle along with golden alloy wheels. Another new addition to the portfolio is the Metallic Black version which, as the name suggests, boasts a full-black bodywork and cycle parts. It sets you back by Rs. 1.36 lakh, just like the Matte Copper and Matte Black. However, if you pay Rs. 1,000 premium, you can get the Dark Matte Blue shade (all prices are ex-showroom).
The FZ X takes design inspiration from Yamaha’s globally popular retro-inspired motorcycle, the XSR 155. The round headlamp with circular DRL around its circumference, a bulbous fuel tank, and a chunky seat with a ribbed pattern lend it a distinctive visual appeal. Feature-wise, it is decently equipped with a USB charging port, traction control, single-channel ABS, and a side-stand engine cut-off switch.
Powering the bike is a 149cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 12.2bhp and 13.3Nm and comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. It weighs a measly 139kg (kerb) while the fuel tank capacity stands at 10 litres. As for the cycle parts, the FZ X rides on 17-inch alloy wheels that are suspended by telescopic forks and a monoshock while braking is handled by a single disc at both ends.
