- Yamaha FZ25 BS6 bookings open at select dealerships
- Booking amount ranges from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000
- Likely to be around Rs 5,000-7,000 more expensive than the BS4 model
Yamaha dealers have started accepting bookings for the new FZ25 BS6 model in select cities across India. The booking amount for the motorcycle ranges from Rs 1,000-5,000, depending on the dealership. Official launch of the new FZ25 will take place next month. Although Yamaha hasn’t revealed the price of the BS6 model yet, it is expected to be around Rs 5,000-7,000 more than the existing version which retails at Rs 1,34,680 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Yamaha had revealed the new FZ25 in February 2020. The motorcycle gets a completely redesigned front fascia with robotic-style headlamp design surrounded by a sharper bikini fairing and a taller visor. Notably, the new headlamp now houses bi-functional LED setup along with LED DRL, as opposed to the conventional headlamp on the BS4 model. Also, it comes equipped with an underbelly cowl now. Apart from these changes, the overall design remains identical to its BS4 counterpart.
The new FZ25 also gets new features in the form of a negative LCD display and a side stand engine cut off switch. As for the engine, the FZ25 was already powered by a fuel-injected powerplant which means it gets minor revisions to comply with the new emission regulations. Interestingly, the power figures remain the same as before at 20.5bhp and 20.1Nm. The cycle parts have also been retained with telescopic forks and monoshock for damping and disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS.
To make things further interesting, Yamaha will introduce the FZS 25 – a fancier version of the standard model which will be launched by the end of this year. It gets touring-oriented add-ons such as knuckle guards and a taller visor along with other cosmetic elements to make it aesthetically more appealing. The FZS 25 will be slightly more expensive than the standard version.
