- Yamaha FZ25 BS6 starts arriving at dealerships

After the official launch of the Yamaha FZ25 BS6 last month, the quarter-litre street bike has recently started reaching dealerships in India. While the standard variant of the bike has been priced at Rs 1.52 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), its S variant demands an additional premium of Rs 5,000.
The FZ25 has received a cosmetic makeover over the previous version and it gets a new robotic-styled headlamp along with redesigned fuel tank extensions comprising of faux air intakes. In terms of features, the FZ25 incorporates a full-LED headlamp and tail lamp, negative LCD instrument cluster and a side-stand engine cut-off switch. Meanwhile, the S variant sports additional elements such as a tall visor and knuckle guards.
Propelling the new FZ25 is the same 249cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine but the carbureted fueling setup has been replaced by a fuel-injector for cleaner emissions. It comes mated to a five-speed gearbox and produces 20.5bhp at 8,000rpm and 20.1Nm at 6,000rpm. The hardware package continues to be the same including 17-inch alloy wheels, telescopic forks, monoshock and a disc at both ends.
In the quarter-litre street bike segment, the Yamaha FZ25 BS6 competes against the Suzuki Gixxer 250 and the new Bajaj Dominar 250.
