Yamaha has been awarded the India Design Mark (I Mark) award by Indian Design Council for the FZ25. This is the seventh time in a row that a Yamaha two-wheeler has won the coveted award.
India Design Council is an autonomous body set up by the government for multi-disciplinary design. It is involved in promotion of design in businesses, society and public services. The body awards India Design Mark to a product after identifying a good design that meets or exceeds its criteria of evaluation. The award signifies that the product excellence in form, function, quality, safety, sustainability and innovation.
The Yamaha FZ25 was launched last year and is positioned between the R15 V3.0 and the R15-S. It essentially carries over the design language of the FZ-S, albeit with a more muscular profile and trendier design cues. It even features an LED headlamp which gives the front a distinct look. Although monthly sales were close to 4,000 units initially, the number has now settled to around 2,000 units. Priced at Rs 1.19 lakhs (ex-showroom), the FZ25 competes against the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and the KTM 200 Duke.
