- Priced at Rs 87,042 (ex-showroom)
- Available in two paint schemes
- Rs 4,000 more expensive than drum brake variant
The Yamaha FZ-S FI has been launched in a new variant featuring a rear disc brake. Priced at Rs 87,042 (ex-showroom), the new variant commands a premium of Rs 4,000 over the standard variant.
The Yamaha FZ-S FI rear disc brake variant is offered in two trendy paint schemes – grey and matte green. While the former gets silver decals, the latter gets yellow decals. There are no other mechanical changes, and the FZ-S FI continues to be powered by a 149cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine. This engine churns out 13bhp and 12.8Nm of torque, and is mated to a five-speed transmission.
Yamaha has kick-started its new 'The Call of the Blue’ campaign with the launch of the new R15 Moto GP edition and the FZ-S FI. The campaign aims to introduce Yamaha's spirit and core identity to the audience. The recently launched Cygnus Ray ZR Street Rally edition was also a part of this campaign.
The FZ-S FI was the first bike in the premium 150cc commuter segment to get a fuel-injection system when it was launched in 2014. However, it hasn’t received any other technological upgrade since then. With this new variant though, Yamaha has brought it on par with the competition, although we would have liked to see ABS, at least as an optional extra.
