Yamaha has reintroduced the FZS v2.0 as the FZS-FI and given it a rear disc brake. The rear disc measures 220mm. Braking duties on the front continue to be carried out with the older setup sporting a 282mm disc. The new bike is priced at Rs 86,042 (ex-showroom,Delhi) which is Rs 3000 more than the standard model.
The FZS-FI also comes in a new ‘Armada’ blue colour and different graphics. The design though remains the same with a muscular tank, split seats and a conventional streetfighter stance. The new bike continues to be powered by the 149cc, air-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine from the v2.0. The engine puts out 13bhp at 8000rpm and 12.8Nm of torque at 6000rpm.
Yamaha has updated the bike to keep it at par with the competition - the Honda Hornet 160R and the Suzuki Gixxer. The latter two offer a rear disc brake as an option. While the Hornet 160R retails at Rs 86,823, the Gixxer costs Rs 82,349 (both prices ex-showroom,Delhi).
