India Yamaha Motor has reported an increase of 29.10 per cent in its sales for December 2012. The company sold 44,976 units as compared to 34,839 units in the same month previous year.
One of the reasons for such a good performance by the company is the launch of the Yamaha Ray in September. This scooter has already gain 4 per cent share in a market which is currently dominated by the Honda Activa and the Suzuki Access.
We had reported few days ago that Yamaha was betting big on the Indian two-wheeler market. The company intends to develop motorcycles in India and will be the cheapest in their global range.
