Yamaha Motor India has registered 67.4 per cent growth in total sales at 60,996 units in August 2013 as compared to 36,432 units in the same month last year.
In the domestic market, the Japanese manufacturer’s sales grew by 57.5 per cent where they manage to sell total of 42,990 units in August 2013 as against 27,297 units sold in the corresponding year last year. The company exported 18,006 units in August 2013 as compared to 9,135 units in the same month last year, thereby achieving a growth of 97 per cent.
The impressive double digit growth has been achieved due to extended product line up. The company hasn't provided a breakup of the sales numbers product wise, but there is a high chance the company’s scooter portfolio is helping them gain these sales numbers. It would be interesting to know how Yamaha’s updated SZ series – the SZ-S and the SZ-RR commuter motorcycles are performing.
