Yamaha Motor India has seen a growth of 65 per cent in their domestic sales which includes their market in Nepal. The Japanese manufacturer saw this increase in last month as compared to the same period last year.
The company sold 63,927 units in April 2016 compared to the 38,568 units sold in April last year. Which is an increase of a healthy 65.75 per cent.
The manufacturer said that the increase can be attributed to Yamaha's increasing focus on expanding in Tier II and Tier III cities along with the company's ongoing customer-centric activities.
Commenting on the company's continuing growth, Roy Kurian, Vice President - Sales and Marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales said, "As the Q1 growth trajectory of 47 per cent steadily headways into the current quarter with 66 per cent growth in April 2016, Yamaha will continue its consolidated performance of steady sales growth along with more network expansion."
He further added, "Fascino is doing extremely well and with Cygnus Ray-ZR launched, Yamaha is looking to further augment its position in the scooter market by targeting 10 per cent market share by end of 2016. Yamaha's introduction of Saluto RX will sport more excitement as now it will cater to the requirements of basic commuter segment."
