Yamaha Motor India has registered a growth of 21 per cent in domestic sales for January 2015. The manufacturer owes this hike in sales to the addition of new products to its line-up.
Yamaha sold 39,309 units last month in comparison to 32,534 two-wheelers sold in the same month in 2014. These numbers include both the sales of scooters and motorcycles, however, the double digit growth is mainly due to their focus on the scooter market. The company’s strategy of concentrating on scooters has worked well for them till now and is only expected to get better.
Roy Kurian, Vice President, sales and marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd, said, “The incessant growth reinforces our belief in our business and strategic Outlook. We are happy with our gradual growth and are extremely positive about 2015 with our new launches and innovative customers connect programs. Leveraging on the same, we will garner major sales and will be able to post some record numbers in the coming months. Upbeat about the future, we are eager to replicate and improve upon our last year’s achievements in 2015 too.”
Apart from the latest automatic scooter from Yamaha named Alpha, the Ray series of scooters are also enjoying a good demand in the Indian market. To add to this the company refreshed the FZ series of motorcycles and put them on sale with a more efficient engine. Let us hope the manufacturer brings in more products for the Indian consumers soon, especially the R25, which Yamaha fans and enthusiasts in the country are eagerly waiting for.
