We had reported earlier that Yamaha's upcoming facelifted version of the FZ-S might be launched in June this year. Now, Yamaha India have arranged a conference on June 30 and announced that they will unveil a new chapter. We think the company will launch this revised FZ at this event.
The company had displayed the FZ-S concept at the 2014 Auto Expo. The bike has been spied testing several times after its debut at the biennial event.and the final production version is expected to carry most of the components the concept had.
This version of the FZ-S is the updated variant of the standard model of the outgoing FZ. The blue coloured concept showcased at the expo displayed sharper and meaner looks than the current version. The motorcycle gets a well-sculpted tank, different headlamp, minor changes to the rear section, new tail lamp, new exhaust, new rear mudguard and a revised registration plate.
Yamaha might power this facelifted model with the same air-cooled 153 cc single-cylinder mill that produces 14bhp of power and 13.6Nm of torque. There are speculations that the company has increased the power output and introduced a fuel-injection system.
In a bid to appeal to the prospective buyers and secure more sales, the manufacturer might make this variant available in bright new colours and decals. All details will be clear on the launch of the motorcycle. However, knowing Yamaha, we can also expect some innovative initiative to be discussed at the conference, like the child safety program initiated last time when they held a conference.
