Yamaha revealed their iconic Motobot at the last Tokyo Motor Show. This new technology is seen as a revolution in the motorcycle industry.
While the Motobot doesn’t plan to be better than Valentino Rossi, it wants to achieve 200kmph by 2017 on a race track. And for the same reason, the Japanese automaker has begun the phase two of this project. This announcement was made at the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show being held at Las Vegas.
Yamaha is developing this Motobot with the help of SRI International, which is a robotics arm and research company. While we’re certain that Yamaha wants to make a big difference in the motorcycle and technology industry, it started this project to develop the next-generation rider safety technology . To achieve this, the company thinks achieving 200kmph with the Motobot is a very important milestone. Both the companies are working towards this and want to do it before 2017. So we won’t be surprised if we start seeing some really good rider-safety technologies as early as 2019 from Yamaha.
