- Yamaha MT 15 could get dual-channel ABS
- Prices likely to go up by Rs 4,000
- It will perhaps remain unchanged in other aspects
The Yamaha MT 15 is reportedly expected to get a new update in the form of dual-channel ABS soon. As of now, the motorcycle is available only with a single-channel ABS setup. The introduction of a dual ABS functionality might increase the prices of the motorcycle by around Rs 4,000. It currently costs Rs 1,40,900 (standard) and Rs 1,41,900 (Special Edition).
Yamaha had launched the BS6-compliant MT 15 back in February 2020 when it had received minor changes like a new colour, side stand engine inhibitor and radial tyres, besides a cleaner engine of course. These changes had resulted in a price hike of Rs 4,000. Surprisingly, this was followed by two more price hikes at later stages. Now, with a dual ABS setup, it will undoubtedly become a safer offering. But this will also make a motorcycle more expensive that is already priced exorbitantly.
The Yamaha MT 15 is available in three colour options including Metallic Black, Dark Matt Blue and Ice Flue-Vermillion. It locks horns with the KTM 125 Duke that is another pricey proposition with a price tag of Rs 1,51,507.
