Yamaha has unveiled a new limited edition model of its 155cc street bike, the MT 15, at the Bangkok International Motor Show in Thailand. It gets a special paint scheme which has been introduced only in the Thai-spec model, which is mechanically different than the one sold in India. Although this distinctive paint scheme is not available in the India-spec MT 15 yet, we can still behold its stunning pictures.
The overall body panels of the limited edition model sport a dual-tone paint scheme which is a combination of black and bright turquoise blue shade.
Adding extra bling to its appearance are the yellow-coloured alloy wheels and MT logo on the fuel tank shrouds. Also, the golden forks make it look all the more premium.
Now, in terms of features and hardware, the limited edition MT 15 is identical to the standard model of the Thai-spec bike. Hence, it incorporates the radical-looking full-LED headlamp and tail lamp along with negative LCD display.
Powering the motorcycle is the same 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled mill which does duty on the fully-faired YZF R15 V3. This VVA-equipped engine belts out 19.3bhp and 14.7Nm and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.
In Thailand, this baby MT is equipped with more premium inverted forks upfront and a lightweight aluminum swingarm. In comparison, the one available in India gets conventional telescopic forks and box-type swingarm.
Stopping the 17-inch alloy wheels are disc brakes at both ends which are assisted by dual-channel ABS as standard.
Yamaha has priced the MT 15 limited edition at THB 98,500 (approximately Rs 2.32 lakh) in Thailand. In India, the new BS6 version of the motorcycle costs Rs 1.39 lakh (ex-showroom).
