- Launched in new MotoGP edition recently
- Prices marginally vary as per the colour option
Yamaha Motor India recently added a new variant to the colour palette of its highly-popular street bike, the MT 15 V2. It goes by the name Monster Energy MotoGP edition which was available for the previous generation model as well. However, the new one looks much more dapper due to the presence of golden upside-down forks, unlike its predecessor’s conventional telescopic units.
With the introduction of the new MotoGP edition, the total number of colour options available for the MT 15 V2 is five. The most vibrant of these is the Ice Fluo Vermilion which sports a white fuel tank and front fender along with red wheels. A little more subtle are Cyan Blue and Racing Blue which, similar to the white paint scheme, get coloured alloy wheels. Lastly, the most understated of them all is Metallic Black which features black body panels with grey decals on tank extensions.
Notably, the most understated Black colour is also the most affordable with a price tag of Rs 1,63,400, whereas the MotoGP edition trim is the most expensive at Rs 1,65,400. The remaining three paint schemes set you back by Rs 1,64,400 (all prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).
As for the hardware package, the MT 15 is powered by a 155cc, liquid-cooled mill which churns out 18.1bhp and 14.1Nm of peak torque. Despite packing an enjoyable punch, this engine is also fuel efficient as it returned 53kmpl in our mileage test. With a fuel tank capacity of 10-litre, the bike is also pretty light with a kerb weight of 139kg. It rides on 17-inch wheels that are suspended by upside-down forks and a monoshock while braking is handled by a single disc at both ends.
