- Makes debut in Thailand
- Gets new colour schemes
- Unlikely to be launched in India
The Yamaha MT-03 has been updated in Thailand with a new version called Dark Blast Edition. Priced at an equivalent of Rs 4.26 lakh, this version of the MT-03 gets new colour schemes to set it apart.
First up is the Gray colour that is similar to the 2021 model but comes with cyan-coloured wheels instead of the red on the previous version. The rest of the motorcycle is adorned in grey and with red and cyan graphics. Besides this, the MT-03 Dark Blast Edition is also available in a full-black colour option which replaces the blue/grey paint scheme that was offered on the earlier model.
Apart from these new colour options the MT-03 Dark Blast Edition remains the same as before. It comes powered by a 321cc, parallel-twin engine that churns out 42bhp and 29.6Nm putting it in direct contention with the KTM 390 Duke. As for its features, it comes with full-LED lighting, dual-channel ABS and a full LCD instrument cluster that could have been replaced with a TFT screen to add value.
Nonetheless, the Yamaha MT-03 is unlikely to make its way to India anytime soon even though Yamaha has begun to show interest in the premium two-wheeler segment. The brand has opened its flagship Blue Square dealerships in Mumbai recently with an aim to convert every showroom in to the premium facility.
