- MT 03 is a CBU unit
- Powered by a 40bhp engine
- Gets USD forks
Yamaha has finally launched its most awaited street bike – the MT 03 in India. This bike has been priced at Rs 4.60 lakh (ex-showroom), which makes it Rs 5000 cheaper than the R3.
The Yamaha MT 03 is the naked version of the R3, making its presence felt in India for the first time. It competes with the KTM 390 Duke and the BMW G 310 R. The Majority of the components of this bike are shared with the fully-faired sibling - the R3. This bike is powered by a 321cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that makes 40.4bhp and 29.4Nm. This motor is mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.
The MT 03 rides on 17-inch wheels at both ends with USD forks and a mono-shock for suspension duties. Meanwhile, braking is done by single discs at either end with ABS. The MT 03 comes with dual-channel ABS, LED headlamp and LCD screen.
The MT 03 is a completely built-up (CBU) unit from Indonesia. It will be sold in two colour options – Cyan Blue and Black. Currently, there are no details on the bike’s localization, but we can expect that to happen if there is an excellent response to the bike.
