- Yamaha MT-125 to debut on 16 October
- Based on the MT-15
- Unlikely to arrive in India anytime soon
The Yamaha MT-125 is likely to make its debut on 16 October in European markets. This news comes after the manufacturer released a video teaser on their social media channels.
The teaser reveals the bike’s distinctive LED headlamp suggesting that the MT-125 will be based on the MT-15 which is sold in India. While the design and bodywork will be the same, the MT-125 will house the same 125cc, single-cylinder engine with VVA technology as the fully-faired R125. The unit produces 14.7bhp and 12.4Nm of torque and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are to be carried out by inverted forks upfront and a monoshock at the rear.
While the MT-125 will be available in Europe right after its unveiling, there is no confirmation whether it will be launched in India anytime soon. However, if launched, We can expect the MT-125 to undercut the KTM 125 Duke’s Rs 1.32 lakh price by a considerable margin.
