- Over 9,000 units of MT-15 V2 sold in April
- Highest ever sale since 2019
Yamaha has recorded the highest ever sale of the MT-15 in India since its debut in 2019. The manufacturer sold 9,228 units of the R15-based streetfighter in the country last month.
The MT-15 Version 2.0 was launched last month and came with significant updates over the previous gen that was taken off the shelves in March 2022. Out of all the changes it received, the inclusion of upside-down forks with golden fork bottles and an aluminium swingarm were major. Apart from that, the MT-15 Version 2.0 also boasts of a Bluetooth enabled instrument cluster and some swanky new colour schemes. Do these updates make a difference on the road? However, the increase in sales numbers is interesting as Yamaha also bumped up the cost of the motorcycle by a hefty Rs 13,000 with the new model which is priced at Rs 1.59 lakh, ex-showroom. Further, the numbers for April 2022 also reveal that the demand for the MT-15 has grown substantially over the relatively more expensive R15 V4.
