The Yamaha MT-25 has once again been spotted testing in Indonesia. The naked quarter-litre motorcycle was spotted sans any camouflage and seemed to be in its production-ready avatar.
Like in previous instances, the shutterbugs managed to capture just the rear of the test mule. In this photograph, we can see that the overall design of the rear section has been carried over from the YZF-R25 supersports motorcycle, with the addition of pillion grab rails. Most of the components will be similar to the YZF-R25, though the MT-25 does ditch the clip-on handlebars in favour of straight bars.
Mechanically, the MT-25 will be identical to the R25, and will be powered by the same 250cc parallel-twin engine. This engine produces 35.5bhp and 22.1Nm of torque and comes mated to a six-speed transmission.
The Yamaha MT-25 is expected to hit the Indonesian market in the next couple of months. Last year, Yamaha launched the YZF-R3, a bigger and more powerful version of the YZF-R2, for the European and the US markets. This means that we can safely expect the Japanese manufacturer to introduce a similar MT-03 naked motorcycle for these markets.
