Yamaha is likely to debut the radical looking MWT-9 motorcycle on 25 October at the Tokyo Motor Show. The MWT-9 was first unveiled as a concept at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show and was named the LMW-MWT-9.
The MWT-9 is a three-wheeled motorcycle. The motorcycle has two wheels at the front, each featuring two inverted forks mounted on the outside of the wheel, connected with a single-sided hub.
Although the design looks busy, the setup should allow for extra grip on the front-end while ensuring that the MWT-9 handles and rides like a conventional motorcycle. It will use the same front-end technology as the Yamaha Tricity, a three-wheeled scooter. The motorcycle is expected to use a revised version of the MT-09’s 847cc inline-three cylinder engine.
It is also very unlikely that the motorcycle will be arriving in India anytime soon as Yamaha is focusing on smaller capacity products in the country.
