Yamaha Motor India Ltd has opened a technical school at Don Bosco Technical School (DBTS), Liluah, West Bengal. This 'Yamaha Technical School' will focus on training the economically backward youth about two-wheelers and making them expert technicians.
This is the third technical school inaugurated by Yamaha in India which will impart technical training to underprivileged youth and those from the economically weaker sections of society. They will later employ them across Yamaha dealerships as two-wheeler technicians.
The two-wheeler manufacturer plans to launch five Yamaha Training Schools by the end of this year. This move is a part of Yamaha’s CSR activities and the company will partner with NGOs to launch YTS’s with Yamaha Technical Academy certification.
In India there are a large number of unskilled youth who are pushed towards unemployment due to the lack of training. And in a country where there is ample manpower, this will be a hindrance to any nation’s development. So such initiatives from manufacturers are beneficial to provide employment to the unemployed, make them self-reliant and lead a better life.
