India Yamaha Motors have inaugurated a new spare parts centre in Tamil Nadu. This new centre is located inside the company’s plant in Chennai and has a total area of 30,000 sq mts.
Built at a cost of Rs 58 crore, this new facility has the capability of dispatching spare parts the next day of receiving orders. This will help the dealers receive the parts quickly, which will eventually decrease the waiting time for customers’ bikes and scooters. As per the company, the part supply ratio of this new facility is five per cent more than its Bengaluru centre which now has been discontinued.
At present, the Japanese manufacturer has 20 spare parts distributors across 15 states and more than 3,000 spare parts retailers across the country for supply of genuine spare parts to the dealers and customers.
“The new Centre will play a significant role for achieving IYM Goals. It will contribute to the IYM Profit by strengthening the business foundation and supply chain management operation. The new Centre will support Yamaha business by ensuring smooth supply of quality spare parts in South India as well as other parts of the country and contribute to the achievement of business expansion plans," said Takashi Terabayashi, managing director, IYM.
