Yamaha has announced the squad for its 2018 racing campaign. The entire squad, including Yamaha's premier class racers, Valentino Rossi and Maverick Vinales, made an appearance at the conference conducted at the Chang Intenational Circuit in Buriram, Thailand.
The Chang International Circuit is a part of the MotoGP calendar for the first time this year. The track also replaced Phillip Island as the second track on MotoGP's winter test calendar, which is currently underway. Yamaha conducted a press conference at the track before the commencement of the testing session, announcing the squad for its 2018 campaign for racing championships. The 29-member squad comprises of racers competing in different classes in the Asia Road Racing Championship, MotoAmerica AMA championships, Endurance World Championship, World Superbike Championship and of course, MotoGP.
With Rossi and Vinales finishing fifth and third respectively in the last season, Yamaha is clear about its aspirations to score the championship this year. Also present at the conference was Monster Yamaha Tech 3 satellite team racer Johann Zarco, and Pata Yamaha WSBK racers Alex Lowes and Michael van der Mark.
