Yamaha recently launched the 2018 YZF-R1 in India with a Rs 20.73 lakh price tag. While the YZF-R1 is a supersport bike, there are 5 other bikes from different segments that you could buy. Here is what the grid looks like-
Ducati offers the Multistrada 1200 Pikes Peak at Rs 20.76 lakh. The bike is a more road-oriented version of the standard Multistrada 1200 and is painted in Ducati racing livery. The bike comes equipped with an Ohlins suspension setup for the front and rear, a Termignoni exhaust system and a carbon fibre windshield. It is powered by the same 1198cc Testastretta DVT L-twin engine, which produces 160bhp and 136Nm of torque.
If the adventure touring segment isn’t your preference, Moto Guzzi has your back with three bikes in this list. The Moto Guzzi California 1400 is a retro-styled cruiser with a modern appeal to it. The bike priced at Rs 22.34 lakh is also the base for the Moto Guzzi Eldorado and Audace. The Eldorado is a proper modern-classic cruiser with a laid-back riding position, oodles of chrome and white walled tyres. It priced at Rs 23.19 lakh. On the other hand, the Moto Guzzi Audace is a meaner looking version of the California 1400 thanks to its blacked-out components. The bike is highlighted by the minimal bits of chrome all around. The Audace would cost you Rs 22.74 lakh.
All the Moto Guzzi bikes in this list use a 1380cc 90 degrees V-twin engine which produces 95bhp and 120Nm of torque via a six-speed gearbox and shaft drive. The traditional transverse engine layout with cylinders jutting out from below the fuel tank gives the bikes a unique look.
Want something more radical? You can have the Avantura Pravega at Rs 21.40 lakh. The bike sports styling of a traditional American chopper with a stretched wheelbase and liberal use of chrome. It is made-to-order and can be personalised to individual preferences. Powering the Pravega is an air-cooled 2000cc V-twin from S&S Engines, USA that is mated to a six-speed gearbox and final belt drive.
