The upcoming Yamaha R15 V 3.0 is expected to be launched in India by early next year. The bike which was earlier spotted in the signature Yamaha blue colour has now been spied again; this time revealing a new colour scheme.
The bike sports a matte silver paint scheme with black stripe-like graphics. It also sports a red colour which seems to be running from the above the split-headlights to the top of the tank. The India-bound R15 V 3.0 would be a downgraded version of the international spec model. Spy pictures revealed that the bike would miss out on the inverted front forks, ABS and the slipper clutch. These are just methods to cut costs and price the bike well.
However, this spy shot shows a VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) sticker on the side of the fairing. This could mean that the bike gets the 155cc engine mated that produces segment leading 19bhp of power at 10,000 rpm and 14.7Nm of torque at 8,500 rpm via a six-speed gearbox.
The Yamaha R15 V 3.0 will replace the R15 V2 when launched in India. However we expect the manufacturer to continue selling the R15 S, which is the highest selling R15 model in India, for a bit before taking it off the market.
