Pictures of what seem to be the rear of the Yamaha R15 V3.0 have surfaced online. The much-awaited motorcycle is speculated to host many changes.
The R15 V3.0 will likely have minor cosmetic changes along with new colour and graphic options. Moreover, it is speculated to receive changes like LED DRLs, USD forks and an all new fully digital instrument cluster.
The R15 V3.0 is expected to be powered by the same 149cc single cylinder liquid-cooled engine. The engine develops 16.7bhp at 8,500rpm and 15Nm of torque at 7,500rpm in the current R15 2.0. Yamaha could churn out slightly more power and torque from the engine. The gearbox will likely remain the six-speed unit as the current motorcycle.
The Yamaha R15 has been on sale in India since 2008 and is the Japanese bike maker’s premium 150cc sports bike. It competes against the Suzuki Gixxer SF and the Honda CBR150R in India. The R15 V2.0 currently sells at Rs 1.14 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). We can expect the V3.0 to be priced marginally higher.
