- 2023 Yamaha Nmax 155 launched internationally
- Uses a 155cc engine from R15 V4
- Will not be launched in India
Yamaha has updated the R15-based Nmax 155 scooter for 2023 and launched it in the Malaysian market. The maxi-scooter receives minor cosmetic updates as part of the new model year.
The design and styling of the Nmax 155 remain the same as before, and it continues with the sleek bodywork, LED lighting and majorly blacked-out panels. However, for 2023, the Japanese manufacturer has adorned it with two new colour schemes. So, international customers can have the scooter in a choice of either Red or Blue.
That said, its performance front remains unchanged too but there isn’t much to complain about there. And that is since it uses the tried and tested 155cc, single-cylinder engine with liquid-cooling that also features on the Yamaha R15 V4, MT-15 and internationally available XSR155. While the motor on the Nmax is mated to a CVT gearbox unlike the motorcycles’ 6-speed gearbox, it gets the same VVT (Variable Valve Actuation Technology). It churns out 14.9bhp and 13.5Nm whereas the motorcycles offer around 18bhp. The list of features also remains untouched and features full-LED lighting, an LCD screen and loads of underseat storage.
Well, the Yamaha Nmax 155 is surely a tempting proposition, given the performance and refinement the Aerox 155 sold in India packs in. However, the maxi-scooter is unlikely to be launched in the country anytime soon.
