- Yamaha WR155 R Monster Energy Edition revealed
- Gets unique graphics
- Will not be launched in India
Yamaha has launched the WR155 R Monster Energy Edition in the Indonesian market. The off-road motorcycle features the signature black and blue combination with Monster Energy graphics on the tank. Now, it uses the same 155cc, liquid-cooled engine as the one on the R15, although with a different state of tune.
Unlike the R15 which churns out around 18bhp, the WR155 R produces 16.7bhp with 14.3Nm. And since it’s a proper off-road motorcycle, it comes with a 21-inch front/18-inch rear spoke wheels wrapped in dual-purpose tyres. It gets 41mm telescopic forks at the front with a monoshock at the rear.
Meanwhile braking duties are taken care of by petal discs at both ends. Moreover, the WR155 R also features a slim 8.1-litre fuel tank, a single-piece seat with a grab handle strap, and an LCD instrument cluster that shows information like odometer reading, trip data, average fuel consumption, a gear indicator, as well as a clock.
While Yamaha has already introduced it in Indonesia and will do so in other Asian markets soon, the WR155 is unlikely to make its way to India since we don’t have a market for such motorcycles here.
