Yamaha’s stall at this year’s Bharat Mobility Expo was worth visiting given the variety of two-wheelers it had on display. While the flagship R1M did attract many eyeballs, the showstopper was truly the R15M Carbon edition. If you haven’t got a good look at the motorcycle yet, here’s an image gallery of the bike.
As the name suggests, Yamaha has given this version of the R15 some special visual treatment in the form of a carbon fiber sticker job.
Look closely and you’ll notice that a majority of the front fairing and the tail section have been finished in carbon fiber which makes it look quite premium.
In contrast to the stealthy fairing, the fuel tank and the underbelly cowl have been finished in silver while the USD forks sport a golden shade.
Besides these visual novelties, the R15M Carbon edition remains mechanically the same as all other variants of the small-size sportbike.
It continues to be powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 18.1bhp and 14.2Nm and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.
The bike gets a plethora of goodies for its class such as a quick shifter, an assist and slipper clutch, and traction control.
The official launch date and price of the Yamaha R15M Carbon is yet to be announced. As of now, the costliest trim of the bike is the MotoGP edition which is pegged at Rs. 1.98 lakh, ex-showroom.
