Yamaha R25 production version rendered

The clock is ticking and its less than 24 hours left for Yamaha to unveil their new property, Revstation. The Japanese manufacturer might unveil the R25, the Trike and a new engine under the pretext of this unveiling. Ahead of this premiere, an Indonesian website has released a rendering of the production spec of the R25.

The rendering is based on the screen grab from the teaser released by Yamaha a few days ago. The blueprint has been used as a template to add flesh to this design. The rendering is pretty close to the sketch. While we have seen the prototype of the R25 which didn’t have headlamps, the website has cleverly integrated the headlamps which might be seen on the final production model. However, we feel the computer graphic generated image has raised the front part of the motorcycle a bit, making the overall riding position similar to a sports tourer rather than a track- spec bike.

The new Yamaha R25 will boast of a compact and lightweight chassis as the design elements have been borrowed from Valentino Rossi’s YZR-M1 MotoGP motorcycle. Going by its design and features, the company describes the R25 to be a superbike that one can ride every day.

The R25 is expected to be powered by an all-new in-line two-cylinder, liquid cooled, fuel-injected 250cc motor, mated to a six-speed transmission. Since the company has registered ‘R3’ as the name for the motorcycle in Europe, there might be a possibility that the company might upgrade to a higher capacity 300cc mill to be able to pit their product  against the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the Honda CBR300R.

The Yamaha R25 concept was unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show in November 2013. Yamaha brought the production spec of the motorcycle to the recently concluded Auto Expo. With the company being very secretive about their plans and keeping most of the details undisclosed, we hope Yamaha surprises everyone tomorrow by launching this motorcycle.
