India Yamaha Motors has recalled the YZF-R3 over issues with the fuel tank bracket and main switch sub assembly.
This recall is part of Yamaha’s global R3 recall for the same issues. The defective fuel tank bracket may move due to engine vibrations. This in turn, could cause the fuel tank to crack and the start leaking fuel. The other issue was due to defective power switch that had the tendency to be corroded due to rain from water and cold, which would cause the motorcycle to stall.
The Japanese manufacturer is in the process of contacting 1155 affected customers through their dealerships. All the affected owners will be asked to get their YZF-R3s to the service centres, where the technicians will replace the fuel tank bracket and the main switch sub assembly free of cost.
If you’re one of the affected customers, head to the nearest service centres and get your R3 rectified.
