Aprilia recently took the veils off its latest supersport offering in India, the RS457. The bike has also made its global debut and could be officially launched in our country at the India Bike Week 2023. The brand has teased the same on its social media handles.
The Aprilia RS457 has been derived from the Italian brand’s larger offerings like the RSV4 and the RS660. Its design cues comprise a split LED headlight setup with a transparent visor, sharp body panels with cuts and creases for aerodynamic purposes, and a split seat setup. The RS457 looks quite sleek and evokes the essence of a proper sportsbike with its low clip-ons and rear set footpegs.
Powering the new Aprilia RS457 is a 457cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin cylinder engine. It makes 47bhp and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The setup also benefits from slipper clutch and a bi-directional quickshifter. The RS457 also gets other rider aids including ride modes, ABS, ride-by-wire, three-level traction control, and a fully digital TFT to monitor all the functions mentioned above. It rides on USD front forks and a monoshock while the braking duties are done by a single front and rear disc with ABS. These brakes are mounted on 17-inch alloy wheels that get TVS Protorq Extreme tyres.
We expect Aprilia to price the RS457 around Rs. 4 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival the KTM RC 390, Yamaha YZF-R3, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Ninja 400.
