Yamaha Ray discontinued from the Indian market

Yamaha Motor India has finally pulled the plug off the Ray scooter, which was launched a couple of years ago. The company has taken down the scooter from its official website and a quick call to the company also confirmed the same.

Before the Fascino was launched, the Ray was the highest selling scooter for the company. However, over the last couple of months, the demand for the Ray scooter went down drastically. We spoke to a couple of dealers, who mentioned about consumers interest on the Fascino, even though it was Rs 4,000 expensive.

We believe the Yamaha Ray will make way for the Cygnus Ray ZR, which was unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo. However, this scooter won’t be on sale before May and will be available in two versions – drum brake with steel wheels and disc brake with alloy wheels.
