Get ready to witness some crazy action starting from 7 January, as the iconic Dakar Rally is back with its 41st edition. Participating in the renowned event will be Yamalube Yamaha Rally team with the latest version of their rally machine, the WR450F Rally. The Yamaha factory team consists of a four-rider line-up comprising of Adrien Van Beveren, Xavier de Soultrait, Franco Caimi and Rodney Faggotter.
The WR450F Rally is a 499cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with a reversed-cylinder configuration which allows a strong yet controllable power and torque output. It features parts developed by GYTR (Genuine Yamaha Technology Racing) that provide fantastic performance along with better controllability. The WR450F Rally has a total kerb weight of 162 kg and a massive fuel tank capacity of 33 litres.
To tackle the extreme terrain, suspension duties are handled by 52mm telescopic forks up front with 310mm travel and a KYB Factory developed rear shock with 318mm of travel. For braking, it uses a large 300mm disk with Brembo caliper while the rear receives a 245mm single disc brake.
Comprising of 10 challenging stages, the 2019 Dakar Rally will witness teams competing against each other for two weeks before concluding the rally on 17 January 2019.
