- 18,000 Yamaha bikes recalled in US
- Issue over faulty brake light
Yamaha has recalled over 18,000 motorcycles in US over issue with faulty brake light. Multiple Yamaha motorcycles have been affected by this recall.
According to the company, the front brake switch on these bikes could fail due to increased internal resistance caused by silicon oxide. So if this happens, the brake light and possibly also the cruise control system may stay on constantly. These systems might also have difficultly activating, and may also cancel activation unexpectedly.
Yamaha motorcycles like Yamaha FJR1300, Tracer GT, Niken GT, Super Tenere, Star Eluder, and Star Venture are part of this recall. The company is getting in touch with the affected owners and will ask them to bring the bikes to the nearest service center to get the issue fixed free of cost.
