- Partial operations resume at Kancheepuram factory

Yamaha Motor India has announced that it has resumed manufacturing operations at its Kancheepuram factory. The company has also announced guidelines to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. The safety measures include health monitoring, social distancing, maintaining hygiene, safety for self, family, co-workers, during transit or at workplaces.
Yamaha Motor India is also carrying out frequent sanitisation of workstations, making alternate seating arrangements, organising virtual meetings and enforce staggered timings at the canteen to ensure the safety of its employees.
The company resumed operations after receiving the necessary permission from the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Kancheepuram District. The Indian arm of the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer has resumed partial operations. The company announced in its press statement that it has asked only critical functions to report initially.
Apart from the Kancheepuram factory, Yamaha Motor India’s Head Office in Chennai has also resumed operations in the same manner. The company continues to emphasize on Work from Home for all the employees and only those functions which require physical presence are being allowed to report to the office.
Yamaha Motor India also stated that almost 50% of its dealerships have also re-opened as per the Government guidelines. The two-wheeler manufacturer company is closely monitoring the situation at its other factory locations – Surajpur (Uttar Pradesh) & Faridabad (Haryana) and remaining dealerships.
