A picture of a new 125cc Yamaha commuter motorcycle called Saluto 125 has been leaked on the internet. The completely undisguised motorcycle seemed to be in its production-ready form and sported Yamaha branding on the front fairing, fuel tank and the side panel as well as ‘Saluto’ decal on the rear panels.
While the Saluto 125 will be based on the same diamond tubular type frame, we expect it to be powered by a 125cc engine equipped with the ‘Blue Core’ technology. The performance of this engine should be somewhat similar to the standard engine’s 7.1bhp and 8.1Nm of torque, though the Blue Core technology should help it extract better efficiency figures.
The spied motorcycle features five-spoke black alloy wheels, but the lack of a disc brake at the front and the no-frills styling means that it might be the entry-level 125cc motorcycle in Yamaha’s line-up. It will rival the other 125cc commuters like the Bajaj Discover 125, TVS Phoenix, Hero Glamour and the segment leader - Honda CB Shine.
