Yamaha has launched the Star Eluder, a bagger based on the Star Venture, which was launched a few months ago. The bike gets a smaller screen, while the touring seats, pillion backrest and top-box are gone.
The bike uses the same 1854cc V-Twin engine as the Star Venture. This engine makes 170Nm of torque to pull the 396kg motorcycle and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. It also gets riding modes, traction control like the Star Venture with ABS as standard.
The standard fitment also includes a Bluetooth-integrated infotainment system with a seven-inch touchscreen along with handle-mounted switches. A GT option is also available that includes sat-nav and a CB radio.
The Star Eluder, like the Star Venture will only be sold in America. The Star Venture aims for full touring motorcycles like Harley Davidsons and the Honda Goldwing. Meanwhile, the Star Eluder will compete against the bagger version of the Honda Goldwing- the F6B and the K1600B, which is a BMW K1600GT based bagger.
